Turkey and Turkish language have been promoted for the US primary school students at an event held jointly by the Turkish Embassy in Washington and Yunus Emre Institute's  Washington DC Office.

YEE officials have visited the Barnard Primary School and met the final year students within the framework of the Washington DC Public Schools Embassy Promotion program.

The US students were briefed about the Turkish language as well as Turkish history, cuisine, culture, and music, and at the end of the event, they were given photographs about Turkey and Turkish delight.

The embassy's promotion program allows US primary school students to meet embassy representatives of diverse countries and learn about foreign cultures. Each classroom is assigned to a different country's embassy and students have a chance to have information about these countries.
