Turkish Culture to Extend Beyond Kigali
Yunus Emre Institute is actively promoting Türkiye’s cultural richness by extending its cultural and artistic activities beyond the cities where its offices are located.
The Institute continues to share the richness of Turkish culture with various cities through its representative offices in over 60 countries.
Since 2021, the Institute’s representative office in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, has been introducing Rwandan youth to Turkish culture and language.
Turkish Culture to be Promoted in Musanze, Rwanda’s Second Largest City
Following productive meetings with key art schools and centers in Rwanda, the Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali will launch projects to promote and spread Turkish culture in various art schools in Musanze, Rwanda’s second-largest city, as well as in the capital, Kigali.
Enes Karaçoban, Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali stated, “For the past three years, we have been conducting Turkish language courses and cultural events at the University of Rwanda. To address the growing interest of Rwandan youth in Turkish culture, we plan to organize activities at prominent art schools in the capital and throughout various cities in Rwanda.”
Cooperation with Important Art Schools and Art Centers in Rwanda
Coordinator Karaçoban remarked, “We have discussed potential collaborations and future projects with representatives from Rwanda’s largest art institution, Nyundo Art School, Inshuti Art Space, and Masha Rwanda, a key art center in Musanze. The Institute will persist in executing projects in Rwanda to enhance the cultural connections between our two countries.”
