The Yunus Emre Institute in Washington D.C. hosted an Ebru Art workshop for art teachers from the Washington D.C. public school system. The workshop was led by a Turkish Ebru Master who had studied the art in Turkey. The master treated the teachers to an introductory lesson on Ebru Art, which covered its history and how to create the paintings. After demonstrating proper painting technique, the teachers were able to create their own works of Ebru art.

The evening was a success, giving Washington D.C. public school teachers the opportunity to be introduced to Ebru art. The teachers will look to incorporate what they learned from the workshop into their own classrooms.

It was the Yunus Emre Institute’s pleasure to host the art teachers from the D.C. Public Schools for the evening and we look forward to providing more events like this in the future.
